PART 2: MORE BRIDAL FASHION TRENDS FROM NEW YORK BRIDAL FASHION WEEK
Brides currently shopping for wedding dresses know how exciting it is to see what just came down the runway at New York Bridal Fashion Week. We’re back with more trends from this year’s bridal runways and we are breaking down the next wave of Spring and Summer 2027 wedding dress and bridal accessory trends. From modest styles to statement veils and versatile layering pieces , brides shopping for their dream wedding day look are already starting to ask for these all.
As a bridal stylist who has spent decades working closely with brides, luxury bridal boutiques, and leading bridal designers, I always look forward to seeing how bridal fashion continues to evolve while still honoring timeless bridal beauty.
Each season, New York Bridal Fashion Week gives us insight into the silhouettes, fabrics, textures, and styling details that will soon influence bridal fashion around the world.
In Part 1, we shared three of the biggest wedding dress trends, including large scale florals, a touch of color, and romantic ruffles, that came down the runways for Spring and Summer 2027. If you have not read that yet, you will definitely want to go back and take a look at Part 1, because those are trends brides are already starting to fall in love with for their wedding day looks.
One of the biggest shifts in wedding and bridal fashion we saw this season was a return to a more modest, classic bridal aesthetic. Strapless wedding dresses are still very much here, but we also saw scoop necklines, off-the-shoulder wedding dresses, and delicate spaghetti straps making a strong showing at Fashion Week.
The top bridal designers also gave brides more options for coverage and versatility, which we love. From lace and illusion toppers to structured jackets and dramatic capes, there are so many ways to create multiple looks throughout your wedding day without changing your wedding dress entirely.
And yes, bridal veils are back in a big way, especially the traditional mantilla. As bridal stylists who love timeless, classic brides, seeing this aesthetic come back feels so right!
Today, I’m sharing some of the top bridal fashion trends that I believe will continue shaping bridal style for the upcoming seasons and how brides can thoughtfully incorporate these trends into their own wedding day look.

Trend #4: Peplum Wedding Dresses
Peplum wedding dresses made a noticeable return on the runway, and this is such a fun and flattering detail for brides to consider. As a bridal stylist, I love seeing classic fashion elements reimagined in fresh, modern ways, and this trend felt incredibly elegant on the runway.
A peplum adds a soft layer at the waist, creating shape and dimension while still feeling elegant and bridal. We saw this detail paired with both fitted silhouettes and fuller skirts, giving brides a variety of ways to wear this trend depending on their personal style.
For brides who want something a little different without stepping too far outside of classic bridal style, a peplum wedding dress is a beautiful option that feels fresh but still timeless.
As a bridal stylist, I love peplum wedding dresses because they enhance the waistline while adding softness and movement throughout the gown. It is one of those subtle design details that can completely transform the overall feeling of a bridal look.

Trend #5: Modest But Modern Wedding Dresses
One of the strongest style themes from Bridal Fashion Week was the return of modest bridal fashion, with a modern perspective.
As a bridal stylist, I’m always looking for the evolution of bridal fashion and styles. Today’s modest wedding dresses are anything but traditional in the expected sense. Designers are embracing higher necklines, longer sleeves, additional coverage, and more refined silhouettes while still maintaining softness, femininity, and fashion forward design.
These gowns felt elegant and sophisticated without ever feeling heavy or overly conservative. We saw plenty of beautiful illusion details, sheer sleeves, intricate lacework, and modern tailoring that kept the gowns feeling fresh and current.
For brides who love a timeless, classic bridal look or simply want a bit more coverage, this trend offers so many beautiful options that feel both refined and on trend.
I also love how versatile this trend is for different wedding settings and seasons. Whether a bride is planning a formal church ceremony, a chic city wedding, a winter celebration, or simply prefers more coverage, there are so many beautiful ways to embrace this trend while still feeling modern.

Trend #6: The Return of the Mantilla Veil
The mantilla veil is officially back for weddings, and we could not be happier about it!
There is something incredibly romantic and timeless about a mantilla bridal veil.
This traditional veil style, often trimmed with lace and worn close to the face, brings such a timeless and romantic feel to a wedding dress.
What I love most as a bridal stylist is how versatile the mantilla veil can be. It pairs beautifully with both simple and detailed bridal gowns, adding softness and elegance without overpowering the look.
We are seeing brides fall in love with veils again, and the mantilla is leading the way. It frames the face beautifully and creates an incredibly soft, romantic effect in photographs and during the ceremony.
As with any accessory, styling is everything. It’s ideal to pair the mantilla veil with a gown and overall bridal aesthetics so the look feels cohesive and intentional rather than overly styled.

Trend #7: The Modern Bridal Cover Up
One of the most fashion forward bridal trends this season is the rise of the modern bridal cover up.
Bridal designers showed a wide variety of pieces that can be layered over a wedding dress to completely transform the look. Lace toppers, illusion overlays, structured jackets, and flowing capes allow brides to create multiple looks throughout the day while still wearing the same bridal gown.
As a bridal stylist, I love this trend because it gives brides so much flexibility throughout the wedding day without requiring an entirely separate second dress.
This is such a practical and beautiful option for brides who want more coverage for their ceremony or simply love the idea of changing their look from ceremony to reception. A bride can have one look for the ceremony and then transition into something softer, lighter, or more dramatic for the reception simply by removing or changing a layer.
Beyond versatility, bridal cover ups also add dimension and personality to a wedding look. It can help your wedding day fashion lean more romantic and ethereal, or sleek and modern. This trend is also incredibly practical for brides who want additional coverage for a religious ceremony or cooler weather.
