When Meghan reached out to share the news of her wedding engagement to Sarah, I was overjoyed! I was even more honored to be part of this special season of her life in such a meaningful way, being able to style both brides for their wedding engagement photo session. I was also the bridal stylist for wedding attire for their spring wedding in New England, and for their family-inspired wedding dress shopping event.
As Meghan’s godmother and auntie, I’ve watched her grow through so many chapters of her life and having the chance to style her wedding engagement session was truly a full circle moment.
For this couple, we envisioned a breezy engagement photo session that felt relaxed, coastal, and deeply personal. Set along the shoreline in New England, their wedding engagement photo session even featured a chic vintage car, a quiet boat ride, and their beloved dog.

Before we get into all of their dreamy coastal wedding engagement photo style details, let’s take a closer look at what Meghan and Sarah wore for their New England shoreline, session and how we pulled together outfits that felt relaxed, personal, and beautifully true to them and who they are as individuals.
Our goal was to create outfits that felt completely true to each of them. We were going for two separate outfits for each of them that looked and felt effortless, comfortable, and perfectly coordinated without looking overly matched, because when you feel good in what you’re wearing, you relax, you show up as yourself, and the photos naturally follow.
The Fashion & Styling
For their wedding engagement photo session, Meghan and Sarah each had two thoughtfully curated looks to wear. We worked on a cohesive palette of breezy blues, crisp whites, and soft neutrals to complement the coastal backdrop.
Meghan’s first outfit was a classic white sundress with delicate straps and a flattering silhouette. It was a perfect airy dress for a water-side session. Her second outfit was a blue and white striped maxi dress that simply felt like summer by the water itself. It was soft, romantic and perfect for their time on the boat ride.
Sarah’s outfits complemented Meghan’s looks, too. For her first outfit, she wore a striped jumpsuit with a modern, nautical look. Her more casual second outfit was an easy tank top layered under a breezy button down with chic denim shorts, which was perfect for the coastal lifestyle feel that we were going for.
The result was a cohesive look that wasn’t over-styled or too matchy-matchy, and stayed true to both of their personalities.
The Engagement Photo Session
This fun coastal wedding engagement photo session was the perfect way for these brides to celebrate this time in their lives. We started the session with a vintage Land Cruiser that fit right in. The photographer captured some beautiful candid moments between Meghan and Sarah.
We can’t forget about…their pup! Yes, that’s right. Their beloved dog joined us for the engagement session and was a bundle of fun. It was the perfect way to let the photographer capture those natural smiles and giggles.
As the sun began to set, we boarded a boat for a quick ride around the marina. This created the dreamiest backdrop as Meghan and Sarah steered the boat together.
