CHARMING SPRING WEDDING AT MASSACHUSETTS HISTORIC INN

If you're searching for wedding day fashion inspiration for a spring wedding in Massachusetts, especially one hosted at a historic inn filled with that classic New England charm, Meghan and Sarah’s celebration at the Inn on Boltwood is the perfect place to start. Their romantic wedding day blended classic bridal style, beautiful emotional moments, and a rain-kissed setting that made the day unforgettable. As their aunt and their bridal stylist, this wedding was an incredibly special time for me.

I have always loved dressing up my niece and God-daughter, Meghan, so it was truly an honor to provide my bridal styling services to her and her fiancé, Sarah, for their wedding day and their surprise bridal portrait session a week after their wedding.

What a full circle moment this wedding was for me! From playing dress-up as a little girl to dressing her for the most important day of her life, this moment was decades in the making.

It may have rained on Meghan and Sarah’s wedding day, but that didn’t take away the beauty of their exchange of vows in front of family and friends at the Inn On Boltwood in Massachusetts. Plus, a rainy wedding day gave us the perfect excuse to have bridal photo session a week after their wedding to give them the gorgeous outdoor photos they alway dreamed up and absolutely deserve.

It was my incredible privilege to style and dress these two brides for their charming Massachusetts wedding day. This was a memorable event, even as a rainy spring wedding, and a day filled with so much love.

Before we share the gorgeous photos from Steve DePino from their wedding, of course, we need to talk about the bridal outfits. It was such an honor to be not only their bridal stylist but also provide day of the wedding dressing services for my family.

The Bridal Fashion

Meghan chose the Burke bridal gown by Anne Barge. This strapless ballgown features a box pleated design on the full skirt with a chic peek-a-boo slit on one side. In the back, her bridal gown has the perfect rounded train for a memorable entrance and exit.

Sarah’s wedding gown was the Kiki wedding dress by Antonio Gual. This silk shantung gorgeous bridal dress made a stunning statement with the deep-V plunging neckline and delicate spaghetti straps.

Together With Family

To paint more of a picture for you of this wedding day, my sister Katie, one of Meghan’s other aunts, was the one who officiated the wedding ceremony. I love when couple’s include family into their wedding day, especially when they are mine!

I also helped style Katie as she stood in front of family and friends for the ceremony. For her look we were inspired by the late Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg. We used lace from Katie’s own Anne Barge wedding gown to create an iconic Justice Ginsburg lace neck tie.

Katie asked each of our loved ones to write what was special about Meghan and Sarah’s love. She incorporated those sentiments into the ceremony. Here’s what I wrote about the brides:

“What I love about Meghan and Sarah’s love from Auntie Beth:

Sarah is Meghan’s calm
Meghan is Sarah’s cheerleader

Through Meghan, Sarah has found an “appreciation” for Taylor Swift
Through Sarah, Meghan has found an appreciation for boating

Sarah tolerates Meghan’s loud outbursts
Meghan tolerates Sarah’s tan lines

Together they are UConn’s biggest fans
They are the perfect complement for each other and a match made in heaven!”

Bridal Portraits at The Orchard

Since it rained so much on Meghan and Sarah’s wedding day, I worked with their amazing wedding planner, Jubilee Events, and their incredible wedding photographer, Steve DePino, to set-up a separate bridal portrait session at Bishop Orchards.

They originally chose their wedding venue for the beautiful flowering trees and lush gardens. But, because of the weather on their wedding day, they were unable to capture those outdoor bridal portraits they had dreamed of. So, a post-wedding bridal portrait session was the perfect solution.

We had their wedding gowns cleaned after the wedding, and scheduled a hair and make up session about a week after their wedding. This beautiful orchard in Guiiford, Connecticut was a perfect match for their dreams of outdoor bridal portraits.

The beautiful details of this wedding were planned and designed by the amazing Jubilee Events and photographed by the talented Steve DePino, Here are their gorgeous wedding day photos mixed in with their post-wedding bridal portrait session…

Beyond the fact that she’s my family, Meghan is one of the kindest, most brilliant women I know. Watching her marry Sarah, who is her perfect match, filled my heart with more pride than I can put into words.

I’m celebrating love in all its beautiful forms, and especially the love between these two extraordinary women.

Congrats to Meghan and Sarah!
