ELEGANT COASTAL CHIC SUMMER WEDDING IN MASSACHUSETTS

When bride Haley reached out to me about bridal styling services for her Massachusetts wedding, I was thrilled and could not say no! Two years ago, I provided wedding day styling and dressing services for Haley’s sister’s wedding and it was an honor to work with Haley and her wonderful family again for another beautiful wedding.

I love every bride I have the chance to work with on her wedding day, but there is something even more special about legacy clients. I could not wait to return to Woods Hole for the monumental occasion of Haley and Ryan’s wedding day.

Both of the sister’s weddings took place at the family’s summer residence in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. This gorgeous coastal property has been in the family for years and holds special memories, so it was an ideal location for both sisters to tie the knot. 

Although the weddings took place on the same property, thanks to Whim Events, each had their own unique personality, just like the sisters!

The Bridal Fashion 

When Haley decided to hire our team for wedding day styling, she had already found her beautiful Monique Lhuillier strapless guipure lace wedding gown. As happens with some brides, she was having second thoughts about her bridal gown, so I stepped in to offer my guidance to ensure she would be completely happy with her gown before wedding day.

We worked with the designer to customize the wedding gown, changing the skirt to a silhouette more suited to what Haley was envisioning for her wedding day. Once we had the ideal silhouette, I was by Haley’s side through the final alterations process to ensure her wedding dress was a perfect fit. Her wedding dress did in fact fit like a glove on wedding day! 

While I love the opportunity to help brides from the very beginning of their wedding dress journey, sometimes the help of a wedding day stylist and bridal dresser is just what is needed to assuage any second guessing after saying “yes to the dress!” 

Everything about Haley’s wedding day bridal look was timeless and classic. For accessories, Haley chose a simple pearl bracelet and statement pearl earrings. A simple long wedding veil and a chic bridal bouquet with pops of ‘something blue’ blooms completed her elegant bridal style. 

The Wedding Party

In addition to styling and dressing our beautiful bride, our team was also on hand to help style the bridal party, from bridesmaid dress selection to wedding day styling. Haley wanted her bridesmaids in a mix and match section of shades of blue to carry out the color palette of the wedding day.

I worked with Haley and her bridal party to select the perfect silhouette and neckline for each bridesmaid, so that we had a perfect balance of solids and patterned dresses. And, most importantly, each bridesmaid felt her most confident best.

As is sometimes the case when planning a wedding, there were some surprises along the way! Over the course of a few months, we learned that four out of six of the bridesmaids were at varying stages of pregnancy and we had to make some adjustments to the previously selected bridesmaid dresses.

In the end, the outcome was perfect and these bridesmaids got to sport their best bridesmaid accessory - a baby bump! 

It was such a pleasure to be back at this family home in Woods Hole for another picture perfect coastal wedding day, this time celebrating Haley and Ryan.
