Here are my top four tips for feeling amazing and ensuring your wedding day style photographs are picture-perfect from start to finish.
Hire A Bridal Dresser
My first tip for a picture-perfect wedding day is to hire a bridal dresser or day-of-the-wedding stylist. This may seem like an indulgence, but it’s truly a game changer.
A professional bridal dresser is there to ensure your wedding gown is impeccably steamed, your veil is laid just right, and every accessory is perfectly placed during portraits. We’re there to keep your train fluffed, your bustle secure, and your gown flawless throughout the day, especially during the most photographed moments. It’s peace of mind and perfection in one.
If you plan on changing into a second dress for your wedding reception, a bridal dress can be invaluable to make sure everything you need is ready for a quick change so you don’t miss out on precious minutes celebrating with your loved ones.
It can also be beneficial to have a bridal dresser for your entire wedding weekend if you have multiple celebrations planned. Not having to worry about your rehearsal dinner attire or post-wedding brunch outfit can give you much needed peace of mind during a busy weekend.
Build In Time For Touch Ups
If you’re planning a first look (or even if you're not), make sure your wedding day timeline includes a quick touch-up for both your beauty, like hair and make-up, and your wedding gown before you walk down the aisle.
Between hugs, movement, and happy tears, a little refresh will go a long way in ensuring your photos reflect your most polished self. This is also the perfect moment to fix your veil, adjust your train, and do a final check before the ceremony begins.
If you plan on doing many of your wedding day photos after your ceremony, whether that be family photos or newlywed photos, build in a few minutes for touch ups after the ceremony and before photos start so you can ensure you look your best. It may also be a good idea to do a final touch-up before your announcement into your wedding reception for flawless first dance photos.
Pro Tip: The touch up time on wedding day is also a great time to take a break and a quick breather to gather yourself mentally!

Don’t Schedule Your Final Fitting Too Early
It’s tempting to check “final fitting” off the to-do list early, but trust me: timing matters. Your last wedding gown fitting and dress pickup should not be more than two weeks before the wedding.
A lot can change in those final days before your wedding between stress, travel, changes in routine, and more. The way your gown fits can dramatically impact how it photographs.
Prioritize this appointment and plan for it strategically in your lead up to the wedding timeline.

Always Try Your Gown On After Final Alterations
My last tip when it comes to looking and feeling amazing on wedding day is to always try your wedding gown on after it’s final alterations. This one is non-negotiable.
If any additional work is done to your bridal gown during your final fitting, make sure you try it on again before taking it home. Don’t rely on assumptions or promises. Tour wedding dress is too important.
This final try-on ensures the fit is perfect and that everything feels just as you envisioned. You don’t want to wait until wedding morning to find out that something is not quite right with your wedding dress.

Wedding Day Dressing Plan FAQs
Creating a thoughtful bridal dressing plan is one of the best ways to ensure you feel confident, beautiful, and calm from the moment you slip into your gown to the final send-off. Here are a few quick answers to common questions that I get from bride’s thinking about their wedding day fashion:
Q: What is a wedding day dressing plan?
A wedding day dressing plan is a personalized timeline and strategy for how and when you'll get dressed, including who helps you, how to prep your gown and accessories, and tips to stay photo-ready all day.
Q: Why is a dressing plan important for my wedding day?
A plan for your bridal look is important because tt helps eliminate stress, ensures your timeline stays on track, and gives you space to be present and enjoy each moment without worrying about forgotten accessories or last-minute fashion issues.
Q: Who should be part of my dressing plan?
Your bridal stylist or wedding day dresser (if you have one), your maid of honor or trusted friend, your wedding planner, photographer, and anyone helping you into your bridal gown should all be included and aligned on timing and details.
Q: When should I start thinking about my dressing plan?
You should start thinking about and working on a plan and timeline for your day-of outfit or weekend outfits soon as you’ve finalized your wedding dress and bridal accessories. This gives you time to gather what you need, schedule fittings, and work the fashion plan into your full wedding day timeline, especially if you plan on changing your bridal look or changing your dress.
Q: What should I include in my wedding day dressing plan?
Your plan should outline when you’ll get dressed, who will be helping you, and the exact order for putting on your gown and accessories. Think shapewear, jewelry, veil, shoes, and more. Be sure to include time for steaming or prepping your gown, a checklist of everything you need, and scheduled moments for touch-ups or outfit changes throughout the day.
Your bridal look should reflect your style and your story, but it should also be thoughtfully managed so that it endures the full magic of your day. By hiring the right support, sticking to a smart timeline, and making your fittings a priority, you’ll give yourself the gift of confidence and that shows in every photo.
You deserve to feel as radiant at the end of the night as you did walking down the aisle. And with a little planning and the right team behind you, that’s exactly what will happen.
